sehsüchte: Europe’s Biggest International Student Film Festival

Every year the International Student Film Festival, sehsüchte, brings together the products of the new generation of filmmakers with the experience of professionals involved in the media. Juries composed of prominent names will award the best works prizes to an overall value of 49,300 Euros. The 38th International Student Film Festival, sehsüchte, will take place from April 21 to 26, 2009 in the Thalia cinema in Potsdam-Babelsberg, where cinéphiles of all persuasions will find themselves presented with impressive and innovative gems from the new generation of international filmmakers.

This year, the section Focus will take a close look at the "Indian Subcontinent". How is the new generation there developing outside of Bollywood? To supplement our programme, we are offering, among other things, children's film, music videos, a retrospective, a screenplay lounge as well as a substantial adjunct programme with discussion sessions, conversations among practitioners, workshops and lots of parties.

The Solothurn Film Festival is the most important festival for Swiss film productions. Every year in January, the festival presents a representative selection of current Swiss films in "Swiss Forum". The festival program is supplemented with two exclusive special sections: the "Rencontre" and the "Invitation" section.
 
The diversity of Swiss film productions is reflected in the film program, which is intended to inspire, entertain, challenge the senses and broaden our horizons. The Solothurn Film Festival supports this form of cinema and its makers.

FILMLAND SÜDBÜNDEN 2008

Zehn Jahre nach der ersten «Salecinema»-Woche organisieren wir erneut ein Seminar, an dem wir neue Filme aus der Region vorstellen. Diesmal nicht nur aus dem Engadin und aus dem Bergell, sondern auch aus dem Puschlav und Münstertal. Neben Produktionen der letzten zehn Jahre zeigen wir Trouvaillen aus unserem Buch «Filmlandschaft», Filme, die erst in der Zwischenzeit entdeckt und zugänglich wurden. Mit Jürg Frischknecht und Werner Schweizer Das Programm liegt in einer ersten Fassung vor.

Internantional VGIK Student Festival 2008

The Moscow Short Film Festival is a young and bold project with an objective to show short cinema as an independent, dynamic and topical type of the modern art.
Short cinema is independent because it has no conventionalities and obligations of the full-length movies.
The idea of the festival is to become an artistic stage for those who are ready to open new horizons of cinema, for those who try to describe the current day by means of cinema using bright ideas and innovatory approaches.
Our festival is an attempt to reveal new visions in short films of young directors, to pronounce names determining the future of cinema, to see the origin of new trends and traditions, to find fresh ideas and methods.
It`s a festival of disputes and discussions, intergenerational conflict and searches for truth. It`s a festival of clever, intellectual representatives of the young art.

XVI Yasujiro Ozu Short Film Festival 2008, Sassuolo, Italy

Giunto alla sua sedicesima edizione e confermatosi come grande realtà nel panorama del cortometraggio italiano ed internazionale, torna il Festival del Cortometraggio Yasujiro Ozu, XVI Ed, ideato e organizzato dal Circolo Culturale Fahrenheit 451.

Il festival si terrà il 21 e 28 Ottobre 2008 nell'ambito delle "Fiere d'Ottobre" di Sassuolo.
