ENDSIEG - Everything Changes in One Shot
a short film in one take - ENGLISH
The last days of World War 2. We find ourselves in a solitary Nazi-outpost hidden in the middle of the Alps. The german commander orders a young soldier to be shot by a platoon. Finding himself in a hopeless position with certain death awaiting him the soldier cries out to the platoon to stop the madness of war. the platoon hesitates and so the commander has to take the blood on his own hands. All of a sudden an american jeep with two GI's arrives in the outpost. We find out that the war is over.
What started out as a montage of facts becomes a one-take revealing the true horror of war. When one sees the whole picture nothing remains the same anymore and right and wrong switch sides. Caught inside a narrative loop the spectator must question his own perception.

Die letzten Tage des 2. Weltkriegs. Ein einsamer Aussenposten des Dritten Reiches im Gebirge. Der deutsche Kommandant befiehlt den Tod durch Erschiessung eines jungen Soldaten. Dieser ergreift seine letzte Chance zur Rettung und appeliert an das Mitleid des Erschiessungskommandos. Als das Kommando zögert, muss der Kommandant seine eigenen Hände mit Blut beschmutzen. Kurz darauf tauchen in einem Jeep zwei amerikanische GI's auf. Der Krieg ist nun seit kurzem vorbei.
Was als Zusammenschnitt von Fakten anfängt wird zur Plansequenz, welche die wahren Schrecken des Kriegs enthüllt. Von diesem Augenblick an bleibt nichts mehr so, wie es war. Gut und böse werden vertauscht und der Zuschauer muss in einem narrativen Loop seine eigene Wahrnehmung in Frage stellen.

Seconda Guerra Mondiale. In uno sperduto avanposto tedesco sulle montagne un comandante del III Reich da ordine di esecuzione di un giovane soldato. Il condannato cerca di convincere il plotone dell'inutilit&agrve; di quel gesto, ma quando i suoi commilitoni abbassano i fucili il comandante estrae la sua pistola d'ordinanza e spara. Arriva una jeep con a bordo due soldati USA. La guerra è finita da poco...
Ciò che dapprima sembra essere la selezione di semplici fatti in verità è un unico piano sequenza che racconta un orrore di una guerra. Mentre l'intero girato di questo pianosequenza lentamente si svolge niente rimane com'era: il giusto e lo sbagliato si mescolano, cambiano posizione. All'interno di questa ripetizione narrativa lo spettatore è obbligato a mettere in causa la sua percezione della realtà.

Les derniers jours de la deuxième Guerre Mondiale. Un avant-poste perdu au milieu des Alpes. Un commandant allemand ordonne au peloton d’exécution de tirer sur un jeune soldat. Ce dernier tente sa dernière chance d’être sauvé en appellant à la compassion des soldats du peloton. Le peloton hésitant, le commandant doit lui-même se salir les mains. Peu après, arrivent deux soldats de l’armée américaine en jeep. La guerre vient de se terminer.
Ce qui commençait alors comme un montage de faits, devient un plan-séquence révélant la vérité sur l’horreur de la guerre. Et plus rien n’est comme il était. Le bon et le mauvais changent de côté et, par un chamboulement narratif, le spectateur devra s’interroger sur sa propre perception.
